Teaching your dog to walk backwards can be a little tricky at first, but once they have mastered it it will really help with muscle control in the back legs and awareness of the position of their feet. Being aware of the placing of the feet sends signals via the nerves up to the brain and then back down to the muscles that are required for posture. This exercise is useful at any age but especially in the young and old where control is weakest.
